Is it correct that hashtags are not mandatory to implement filters here? We can also filter words without hashtags, right? If i don’t want to see content about granite, can’t I just create a filter for “granite” and live a granite-free coso life?

I thought the real advantage of hashtags was to silo your coso desktop. Someone, little help?

So if I understand it, we have a population of coso users who misunderstand what hashtags are for. They are not for suppressing content, they are for finding and following content. So, a filtered word/phrase is always hidden from your view, and a hashtag is not a required component of a filter. That make sense? @_Psyber @JoyfullyDazed @DyDave @pendrag

@MPCavalier @_Psyber @JoyfullyDazed @DyDave @pendrag No. Not really. Ideally hashtags should be available for both positive and negative.

Okay so this leads to an interesting conversation. If i know that something I post contains 10 potential trigger words, the burden is on me the poster to hashtag each of those trigger words to decrease the chances that someone might see that post in the ‘hose and potentially sour on the coso experience. That starts to take up a lot of toot real estate. Thoughts?

When I have a sensitive topic, I put it behind the CW wall. Like if I’m sharing an article a
about animal abuse. I tap on CW & put Animal Abuse in the header.
