I remember a time when we heard songs calling out injustice and environmental concerns. Why do we not hear these voices anymore?
And the saddest thing, is all of it could've been avoided
But it was like to stop consuming, to stop being human
And why'd I make a change if you won't
We're all in the same, boat, stayin' afloat for the moment
Great tune and thanks for sharing! The imagery alone provides plenty of contexts.
I should have been more specific by asking, Why don't we hear these voices from American bands anymore?
One of my favorite protest songs is from the Italian band Måneskin, "We're Gonna Dance on Gasoline" in support of Ukraine.
I'm rather cynical and so the way I see it is Americans have become complacent. I see it in the lack of voting and the dismal turnouts for protests and strikes.
I feel like there's a general attitude that since our federal government isn't stepping up to do much of anything against people like Orange Face and Musky, then what's the point?
Gone are the voices of Bob Dylan, Peter, Paul & Mary, Patti Smith, etc.

The same here in Canada. The voter turnout is way too low for the problems we face.

I was 99% sure that that was what you meant. I've wanted to share that song for a while, figured that this way at least 1 person would be open to listening to it. 😂
❤️ how they used their own experiences over the yrs and tied it into what was happening 🌍 , making it a universal struggle 4 human rights & dignity & the climate 2.
Why not in USA? Llook at what happened to "The Chicks" after one of them spoke out. It isn't even about losing money and livelyhood...death threats too.
