damnit get vaccinated and wear a mask! 😡Yeah, I’m tired of wearing it, especially having to wear glasses but I’d rather deal with the annoyance of the mask than be hacking up a lung.
My 77 year old mother was diagnosed with influenza yesterday. Neither she nor the recent home health aide wear a mask around each other. Me? You sure as hell know I am cause I’ve got asthma & other immune issues.
This sign was on my doctors wall in the exam room yesterday. A totally preventable problem. 🤬
@see_the_sus YES! Even though I am vaxxed and boosted, I am immunocompromised and it's appalling to me how many people are running around maskless, even as numbers are rising. It's one reason why I get groceries and other things delivered as much as it's possible for me to do. I'm genuinely terrified of going into a retail establishment at this point.
@XaoslordErie I hadn’t gone in a big-box grocery store, (Walmart, Kroger…), since 2020 until I moved back here and have now had to go in some because I can’t convince my mom to let me help her place pickup orders! Same with brother2. 🤬
@see_the_sus I haven't set foot in a big store since winter 2021 and it was the only time I'd gone into one since spring 2020 in Portales. I did go to the Sprouts here in LC in winter 2021, and those two occurrences have been it for me. Just too many knuckleheads out there.
@XaoslordErie I still go in places like Sprouts, (was Fresh Thyme in IN), TJ’s, Whole Foods, Natural Grocers, etc. Smaller and faster to get out of.
@see_the_sus Many grocers here - like Sprouts, Albtersons, etc. are too far away for me to get to, and there's the infection fear I have, too, so I just go on and have stuff delivered. That said, I do miss the days when I could stroll around the farmer's markets and not have to fear for my life because someone insists on 'muh rights and freeDUMBS'.
