I kept hearing a strange noise last night while I was trying to sleep and now I'm wondering if it was actually a dream. I kept hearing a sound like something rolling around or maybe back and forth on my wood floor. It sounded like a marble rolling or even that wood on wood sound. I remember thinking "what if that's a mouse???" but in my sleep somewhere I think I figured it out. So maybe it was all a dream? In my dream was the "oh, it's this..." Moment. So weird.

David Sedaris talks about how mice will try to roll purloined cheese/food across the floor to their holes in the middle of the night. He likes the idea of them having a little pathway. But his house in Normandy is super old.
