I've been fighting with Steam, trying to get my screenshots to work ever since I got my new laptop. So much Google-fu, but I think I finally fixed it. The secret is apparently running Steam as admin. Then it works.

If this ends up being an issue again, check and see if your GPU has a screenshot *shortcut in its mgmt software. <3
