Finally did some phonebanking this election. I'd been reluctant, but heard from my friend that she was doing it & so succumbed to the peer pressure. ;-)
@rpardee How did that go? I fear it would be like telemarketing and people would curse at me then hang up. 😢

@FurloughedAgain it's def got some similarities to telemarketing--you are making unsolicited calls after all.
And there are a few ppl who curse & hang up. But more who are receptive. They vet their lists pretty well--you're not having to convince hardcore trumpers to vote for Harris or anything. The script I was following just had a brief pitch for Harris and then you ask the person who they intend to vote for. If Harris, you encourage early voting & down-ballot dem votes.
@FurloughedAgain There's also a Q about whether the person needs a ride to the polls. If they say yes you text them a link where they can arrange transportation.
