My history nerd family is now celebrating new made-up holidays. Latest is bday of Salim the first, who I gather was kind of the Genghis Khan of the Arabian peninsula or some such. A real bloodthirsty monster.
But still-cake, so I'm not complaining.

Our family just makes up days to celebrate. Like Day Day, celebrated every 20th of May (calendraic sarcasm—there's a 'Day' for everything else in this country, so why not? 🤣)
