I was today years old when I learned that my hobby of decorating my computer UI has a name - I'm a "ricer" LOL - and that the name derives from a pejorative term for people who trick out cheap Japanese cars ( "rice-burners") to a ridiculous extent. RTFLMAO.

@rpardee Here's the one that got me called names on reddit. I have about 20 years worth of fancy window borders online here https://sourceforge.net/projects/fvwmdecordemos/ It's how I kept sane (more or less) working in the software industry.

@rpardee Yes, kind of. It all got started on MacOS 7 I think, when a guy named Layne Karkruff of BlueSkyHeart Graphics made a bunch of screen backgrounds and customizations. The pictures are 20-30 years old and I still have them.
