Hmm--comcast is telling me they have "upgraded my speed" but to take advantage, I need to buy a new cable modem.
I do not trust these people. Anybody know if this is e.g., a lure to get me to agree to some new pricing or data limits or whatever?
@rpardee at least they’re letting you buy your own equipment. When my DSL internet improved, they sent us a new router/modem to use which we get charged a fee for every month. I have probably paid for it 10 times over now. 😕
Previously I had my own equipment that I bought at a store.

@AverageCitizen yeah, we rented one from comcast for a long time before I ponied up for my own modem. It has way paid for itself.
