I was ~12 years old when the first Star Wars movie came out & I remember the scene where they go into the cantina in Mos Eisley & the bartender refusies to admit the droids. "We don't serve their kind here!".

I remember thinking what a weird prejudice that is to have--they're just robots.

As things like chatgpt come to prominence, I'm starting to understand that prejudice though.
