It’s odd to see non scholars pushing it, all of the sudden. It seems pretty simple to me, though. Yes, racism is still a problem. It’s propped up by laws like blood quantum laws. Is every white a racist? Obviously no.. can white people be insensitive because of their upbringing? Yes. Very. Should we talk about it? Yes. We’re all human beings at the end of the day and our skin color shouldn’t matter but social hierarchies based on race absolutely exist

And there were very specific laws such as those preventing federally subsidized mortgages in neighborhoods that were not 100% white that have affected property values and school funding decades after they were changed.
