In the United States, no state ever votes 100% Democratic (blue) or 100% Republican (red), and yet this is how we are accustomed to seeing our electoral maps illustrated, despite a 2009 study showing that this can exacerbate polarization.

Blue bracelets? Over 52% of white women chose a candidate who openly promoted racism, misogyny, xenophobia, and authoritarianism. Trust has been deeply broken. No performative gestures—like this—can undo the damage or reassure those of us who face the consequences first.

WTH? It seems that a majority of white women voters in the 2016, 2020, and 2024 elections chose to support a candidate with a history of racism, misogyny, and willful ignorance. White women, go talk amongst yourselves.
