Lois Markel, the Queen of the Deaf Maryland's Markel Boys has died few days ago. I was not able to respond quickly because I was not exactly happy with the news.

My great uncle Grover Poole Jr introduced Lois to Edwin who wished to marry a "deaf farming woman" and in the process, created a lasting legacy of Deaf Maryland.

Everyone who is Deaf in Maryland knew who the Markels are.

Godspeed, Lois. You earned the rest.
