depends on her topics. if it's politics - I agree with you. if she writes about self-help etc., then the comments might be quite nice.
what she meant is getting feedback about the work you do. I used to help out on dog training subreddit, and receiving gratitude messages was definitely inspiring. if you don't have any positive feedback, it's hard to stay motivated.
