@Laredo2014 That doesn't sound like a lot of sleep! For sure!

@desbearado I believe it does, a lot. The way social media directs us to things that actively causes conflict in our emotions is what slowly pushes people to go deeper and deeper down the rabbit holes.

Fox News is bad, but the constant reinforcement of the messaging from places like Facebook is even worse. Then it appears to come from family and friends and makes it easier to digest.

We, myself and my family, slipped down that rabbit hole. It makes a big impact, more than people think.

What do you do when you have insomnia and cannot sleep?

@warriorstreak Any day that starts with pie is a good day, unless it's Pi. Then it's gonna circle around to a bad day.

@EdgeOErin I was really bad for this and I "should have known better".

Travel REALLY helped. It really dispels the stereotypes you don't know you have.

@The757Progressive Just don't get stuck in another country during a lockdown. πŸ˜‚

I didn't, but I had hiking friends who did.

They ended up cowboy camping outside of towns and out of sight for a lot longer than they had prepared for.

@The757Progressive I've always been split minded on how to handle COVID.

One one side, I never denied it exists and it's pretty bad. I saw how sick people got myself.

On the other side..... life does go on, even in the worst of a storm, and people will always be people and we are only as strong as the weakest link in our chain.

I would love for it all to just be over and done. Only if wishes were dollars.

@Tattoomonkey29 I had to wipe my social media existence when my family found out I voted for Democrats.

That news spread through my family like a forest fire. They all got on me hard. Every notification I got was a panic attack in a checkmark.

Family values my ass. There's nothing family values in the way they turned on me.

@The757Progressive Tell me about it.

COVID really hampered my adventures for awhile. πŸ˜…

@The757Progressive Oh, it's fine.

CoSo is giving me something to do.

Until I get home, I don't have a social life outside of this right now. πŸ˜…

@The757Progressive Thanks! It's already been a long road.

The way I am now has already been years of dealing with my own shit. πŸ˜…

I still have a lot of gut emotional reactions to things out of years of reactionary politics. Some things still make me uncomfortable but I know that's a "me" thing, and I think I'm progressing

@The757Progressive It is a rollercoaster.

That's the least I can say about it.

Thanks! CoSo has been ❀️ for my sanity and recovery as a MAGA Republican. But long roads still.

I'm excited to go home and see my siblings, but there will be tensions and fights.😐

Is it wrong that I'm already thinking about my next leave of America in my head before I even get home?πŸ˜…

Home doesn't really feel like home any more.

Not sure how I feel about restaurants adding mandatory 18% tips to ensure employees make a livable wage.

Why not just raise the prices of your stuff and pay your employees more? Forcing a tip seems more shady.

@timholt2007 It's not my logic. North Korea is a republic, but we are smart enough to know its a dictatorship using the mechanics of a republic to fluff itself off. Nobody buys it, but it's still a republic on paper.

@timholt2007 No, because they wanted a system where the president was chosen by the people. That is the core difference that makes a democracy a republic. A republic is a democracy where you vote for a president. If it was important to emphasize there's no king or emperor then you call it a republic. Which is a democracy without an emperor, but an elected official.

@dwalace4 My Thanksgiving was a bit unique, but thank you. πŸ˜…

@princesscarolyn I know, I hope the niceness lasts a long time. πŸ˜…
