Michael de Adder is a excellent Canadian cartoonist. Yesterday he sent the one below in to the Halifax Chronicle Herald (recently purchased by the right wing Postmedia corp.) and was summarily fired for it.
A smile for tonight: when I went to Aldi yesterday to buy zucchini to cook, I found this giraffe whose name is now Zucchini and who is one of the stuffies in my classroom - because sophomore football players apparently like hugging stuffies.
Milton is raging, it is Oct 7, and Cheetofuck said that migrants have criminality in their genes. So I cooked. In the process, I also found the answer to what happens to a recipe-less zucchini dish if you dump an entire pound of shredded mozzarella on it, and you forget when you put it in the oven. Here:

Saw my asthma / allergy specialist this afternoon. I was hoping he would say the steroids he has me take could explain the low lymphocyte count. He doesn't think so. Specifically, he said he has given thousands of patients as much/ many steroids as I am taking and nobody's blood count fell apart. It is not even on their radar as something to watch for with my drugs - and they are watching children for stunted height when they are on my types of meds. Le sigh.

It feels like the life of the disabled is always asking for help and I apologize for that, but with my mom now requiring care 24/7, pooling family resources is very challenging. Especially if you consider that even $100 is not pocket money for my family in Colombia due to the high exchange rates ($1=4K pesos)

The fact that I will be going to the cancer institute on Nov 8 is not that newsworthy - I have been going there since my endometrial #cancer diagnosis last fall. On Nov 8 I am not going to see my usual oncologist, but a new one, though: my lymphocyte count keeps dropping so I am going to get me a hematologist. I feel a certain kind of way about all of this.
This morning I looked at the results of yesterday's lab work: lymphocyte count has dropped even lower. I will be calling hematology on Monday. Today, however, I spent all day at a #bellydance event taking classes and also performing w two of my dance sisters. Because today I am alive and able to dance.
On this #Caturday we are giving a growth report on #Milo : he is seven months and the size of a normal adult house cat. He is going to be huge. He is also practicing the Billy Idol lip curl.

Everybody w #cancer remembers THAT DAY. The day when everything changed. The day that mercilessly cleaves before from after. The day that kicked our kicking and screaming asses onto a journey that everyone wants to avoid. The day we found out we had cancer. For me, that day was Sept 26, 2023. Anniversary reactions are a bitch.
