Question for people…

Background: I try to feed a super healthy diet because my past felines have been fed traditional cat food & have ended up not so healthy. There’s lots of talk of real food for dogs, but few choices on the market for our cats. Mine likes variety, so I use a 50/50 mix of a healthy as possible dry and human grade meats (low sodium/unseasoned & fully cooked)

What do you find out there that is both healthy & palatable for your cat?

@Yarnchick
I use liver to make cat food. Usually elk from hunters in the fall or pasture raised local liver. I had a list of essential nutrients for cats from the vet & used that as a guide for the ingredients: beet & squash pwdr, brewers yeast, garlic in a liver pate. Dogs like it too but they get rice or oatmeal added to their pate. I;ll use the entire liver to make a large batch & freeze in smaller containers. Hope this helps

@pondering2 thanks! I appreciate the ideas😊 that sounds super cost effective and we have a new meat locker in our area to source some liver so I’ll definitely be checking it out
