@LnzyHou Yeah but there was a post i saw here (interacting with you, actually) and they mentioned they keep their account because it was easier for them to follow certain people there (for research they said), instead of having to create multiple accounts on other questionable platforms and follow they on those places. We need to see things from the side of reason. I bet most will leave once you need to pay money to post there.

@LnzyHou I agree with you on the grifting maniac part. Just wanted to point out that that woman doesn't sound like she's supporting him, and that the MAGA comment seemed a bit unfair given that she said she had a valid reason for needing to stay. 🙁 @peterquirk

@Christmas_Snow @LnzyHou I lost access to a lot of interesting academics and hashtags associated with linguistics, art, programming, math, quantum physics, AI and news, but I can find them unaggregated on the web and mastodon. As a retiree, I'm not required to follow certain people, companies or technology trends. I can fully appreciate why some people stay.

I’m not going to argue about the toxic and highly dangerous nature of X. If you’ve had a death threat you might feel differently. I stand by my comments.

@LnzyHou @peterquirk Oh i'm not debating that that place is toxic! I'm with you on that 100 percent. I just don't agree with you suggesting that her (or anyone) staying on the platform for whatever reasons they have (that woman's being work) meant they were on the same or similar level as MAGA. =/

I respectfully disagree. Any platform whose purpose is to promote fascism, racism, greed, misinformation, white supremacy, violence, anti-LGBTQ+ is entirely MAGA. And worse.

I will continue to characterize X as the most dangerous/destructive platform there is. Feel free to block me.
