she discovered many synthetic gums are being used widely now, even in #pet #food.

here are some subs for thickeners to replace them:
cornstarch, unflavored gelatin, egg whites, arrowroot flour, psyllium husk, chia seeds and water, ground flax seeds and water, agar agar,
and aqua faba, the liquid from tinned beans esp garbanzos.
