“When I heard those gunshots, I didn’t think anything of it because in this neighborhood everyone has guns. Every weekend you hear gunshots,” she said in an interview in Spanish. “People shoot in their backyards, after they drink alcohol, men take out guns at house parties and shoot the ground.”
This is the culture we're breeding by not ridding our neighborhoods of these war weapons. This woman was describing the shooting of a family that simply requested that their neighbor stop shooting after 11 PM because it was waking an infant trying to sleep.
That angered him so much he shot and killed five people (including an eight year old child). There were apparently no good guys with guns on the scene.
This is insanity. This is Texas. This is the United States today.
