@MarianneWerzOBrien UPDATE - I'm also on another Mastodon instance (mastodon.technology), and someone there recommended #joplin as a replacement. It's open source, designed as an Evernote replacement, and the note storage isn't in a proprietary format. It syncs across devices and supports end to end encryption. You can import existing Evernote files. I'm testing it now.
@duaneaubin
I'm still using Joplin daily. No regrets, no complaints.
@MarianneWerzOBrien
@paxterrarum @MarianneWerzOBrien Excellent!
@paxterrarum @MarianneWerzOBrien Given its E2EE, how robust is Joplin's search functionality?
@duaneaubin
I have thousands of entries in Joplin. Search, even on a single word, is fast and thorough.
@paxterrarum @MarianneWerzOBrien Excellent! I tried Standard Notes and still use Crytpee, which are fully encrypted...but search was limited to the note titles and they certainly couldn't search words in images. And Evernote, awesome at search, sucks at encryption. So, these were painted as polarities - either full encryption, or good search. If Joplin offers both, that's compelling!
@paxterrarum @MarianneWerzOBrien And, how about linking notes?
@paxterrarum @MarianneWerzOBrien How'd the test go?
