Federal judge says Illinois assault rifle ban is unconstitutional

In U.S. District Judge Stephen McGlynn’s opinion, he issued a permanent injunction prohibiting enforcement of the ban, though he stated the injunction won’t take effect for 30 days, meaning it’s paused to give time for an appeal.

@nursefrombirth California, Washington, Massachusetts and New York are the only other states with similar laws. It will be appealed but Clarence Thomas has said that if the ban stands the supreme court should take it up. It will likely go there - but as its a federal judge this is likely to effect the other 4 states with similar bans.
