While considered low risk to humans, HPAI is highly contagious to birds, including commercial and backyard flocks of poultry, the agency said. The virus is also not considered a threat to food safety because infected birds do not enter the good supply, according to the department.

I think eventually we figure out some other way than factory farms. They're fragile, terrible, and smell horrific. Also terrible.

@b4cks4w @nursefrombirth We have to be willing to pay more at local farms. Easy for me to say, right? But if we combine that with reducing our use of animal products by teaching people to use it as just a part of the main dish, instead of a big hunk of meat.
