Judge Orders Kids Removed From Louisiana's Former Death Row
The kids were held in solitary confinement for days at a time, punished with pepper spray and denied access to educational and rehabilitative services.
“For almost 10 months, children — nearly all Black boys — have been held in abusive conditions of confinement at the former death row of Angola – the nation’s largest adult maximum security prison.”

@misslovelymess Truly disheartening.
@nursefrombirth Good Lord no! That's horrendous. Someone needs to end up in jail for this. Likely several someones!
@stueytheround I agree.
@nursefrombirth Monsters. Angola should have been gone a long time ago. They had no intention of rehabilitating those poor kids.
@JLong This is quite sad 🤗
@nursefrombirth 💔 I’ve spent my career in juvenile justice reform. The states in the deep South have a way of being exceptionally cruel to black kids, and kids with developmental disabilities. But this is beyond what I’ve ever seen.
