Free At-Home COVID-19 Tests covered by Insuance

Per the Biden administration, Insurers are now required to cover at-home COVID testing kits every month with no out-of-pocket fees to you.

If you are covered by a US-based insurance plan, you are eligible to get up to 8 free over-the-counter tests/month at no cost to you. A family of four on the same plan would get up to 32 tests covered by their health plan per month.

I’ll receive 8 per month as long as Biden’s executive order is in place. I like this one because they just send them monthly, I don't have to reorder. Stock UP

FYI: COVID TEST EXPIRATION DATES EXTENDED- a handy tool to easily check for revised expiration dates is included in the article.

Just got the notification that my 2nd set of 8 COVID test has shipped. Don't forget insurers are required to pay for up to 8 test/month per covered individual.

Got my 3rd round of 8 FREE monthly test in the mail today. Remember anyone covered by health insurance is entitled to 8 FREE test per month for each covered individual.

@nursefrombirth Timely! I noticed mine had expired and was going to throw them out but now I see they are still good.
Particularly important as I’m sick as a dog and testing daily at the moment.

@NoMansWoman Awesome. Glad it was useful to you and I hope you will be feeling better soon. Take it easy, stay hydrated, and get some rest. 🤗

@nursefrombirth actually, I won't be but I did get my flu shot and I did get the bivalent booster.

@nursefrombirth thx for sharing—I just bought more, somehow had missed that info…
(Flowflex = 21 months shelf life now)

@TanSuitPlease
You are welcome. If you have health insurance you shouldn't have to pay for COVID test. Glad the article was helpful. 🤗

@nursefrombirth I do have health insurance…think I have to submit it for reimbursement. Thx for that reminder too!! 😘
We’ll see if they really do-

@TanSuitPlease I signed up here last month: No copay and auto shipping FREE each month. This will only last as long as POTUS emergency order is in place and I think it's set to be reviewed in March or April Hope this helps

Just entered my insurance information and they send 8 test/month per covered person. Been good far, waiting on my second shipment.

@nursefrombirth oh! Not familiar with that site! I thought getting them directly shipped free ended, period—but great to know it’s working out for you 😊

@TanSuitPlease After the FREE government test ended, our awesome president mandated that insurers cover the test. You can also go to the store and pick them up for FREE but I think you have to order online first. There is lots of information in the feed about how to get them.

@nursefrombirth the only problem with home testing is that it under counts actual cases publicly reported

@tgraph52 There is always an option to report your at-home test results for public data and monitoring purposes. I suggest this one

@nursefrombirth And people MUST swab the cheeks, throat, and then nasal passages, otherwise your chance of a false negative is like 80%

@nursefrombirth I agree, multiple tests are needed. BUT....thread...with pictures. And this matches my own experience.

twitter.com/DrEricDing/status/

@nursefrombirth Thing is, if you're doing multiple tests wrong, you're still going to get the same result.

@HealingHobbit That is TRUE. I've only seen it done that way in healthcare settings and then we used 2 different swabs.

@nursefrombirth When I had my guy do his and told him it was with one swab, he almost refused. Big tough construction guy grossed out. 😂

@nursefrombirth

That's quick! I ordered ours Thursday also, but did not receive an email or the tests. We got them a little later than everyone else last time also. No worries, bc we have a few boxes of 5 tests still here.
