When press outlets softball terms like ‘lynching’ to refer to the negative response/attention that happens when somebody says or does something COMLETELY HORRIBLE online, that is an editorial choice to try to take the bite out of the ACTUAL LYNCHINGS that Black United States citizens suffered - and STILL TODAY suffer at the hands of citizens steeped in hateful White-Supremacist Capitalist Patriarchy.
