FTR, last I checked, there was still stuff from WWII which remains classified (talking ~70 year-old info); NARA takes their time...as they should.

@netspionage Kinda funny how America was largely against joining the war until Pearl Harbor seemingly came out of nowhere for no reason and made America bloodthirsty for the Japanese.
Kinda like how America went from zero to islamophobic overnight after 9/11 to spurn the public into wanting to go to war with an as yet unknown enemy. "We don't know who the culprit is but he looks like this".
Yup, that was a whole big thing. Historians note it, though sadly, too many people these days don't know the half of things, like the amount of propaganda we used *in America* to fuel anger at the Axis forces.
Just did some quick, oblique searches online, can't find any references to Certain Things, so not posting about them.
@netspionage Obfuscation of information. The system moves so slowly that the people responsible will be long-since dead if/when the truth ever came out.
But history is written by the victor, and nearly all of our educational texts are printed in Texas, one of the last states we should be learning from.
Oh, don't even get me started on that topic - was just discussing the gross impact Texas has on school texts with a friend the other day 🙄
I still find it endlessly aggravating when people gripe about the inconvenience of wearing a mask during a pandemic when some older Americans *grew up* during a time when you had to ration damned near *everything* 🙄
It's infuriating, TBH. And they have the gall to call themselves Patriots 🤬

As a festive aside about WWII-era stuff...
I still have (*somewhere* - no clue exactly where in the house) a number of the ration books from that time. They're incomplete, as some of the coupons were used for their intended purpose (to redeem rations of coffee, meat, etc). _Fairly_ positive they survived the house fire, and I *may* have posted pics of them to Twitter, though none here.
Another item to add to the near-infinite list of stuff I intend to photograph & share 🙄
