Twitter's new verification system is being spoofed by people paying the $8, faking a name, making a few jokes or off-color remarks, and then cancelling and getting their $8 back.

@misslovelymess It's pretty funny. There are fake popes arguing with each other. Rudy Giuliani telling dirty jokes. A fake Nintendo account posting Mario flipping off the world etc.
