As I’ve been sitting with insomnia over the weight of terrible in the world, the idea of a sheaf of wheat came to mind.

An individual stalk of wheat is pretty easy to break. Bundled together into a sheaf it is very hard to break an individual stalk. Same goes for people.

There are those delighting in breaking us up into smaller and smaller groups until we are alone and easy to pick off.
