When Eelon fires an engineer who dares contradict him, his stans clap and cheer. This is the world they want to live in; for all their talk about "free speech," they actually want the ability to shut up, publicly humiliate, and inflict harm on anybody who disagrees with them.

This isn't about the principle, because there isn't one here; if they were fired in such a way by a "woke" employer, they'd be the first to scream that their free speech was being violated.

What it's about is sympathy.
