It's 9/11.. and here we are burning a candle in remembrance as we do every 9/11 at my house. My DH (my partner) and I both became first responders as a result of 9/11 and we ran rescue for several years following. We couldn't bring back those lost, but we could help others in need.

Blessings to all those who have ever mourned all those lost or affected on that dreadful day. I'm sure that's probably a significant percentage of humans. We lift you up in our hearts and honor you all.

Five, til three years ago, then we lost our big beautiful GSD dearest Kare (pronounced cuddy). Then there were four, til two weeks ago when Milo left us. That's Milo on the bottom stair. Now we have only three.. These are my kids with tails. More like, they are magnificent beings of light and love, here to teach us lessons about - at minimum - unconditional love. And so much more. 🥰 Cats are great too.. 🥰

It's just a little over two weeks since I sent my dear little dog Milo over the light bridge to heaven. I usually only have tears now when I call one of my three remaining dogs his name by accident.

Here's dapper little Milo wearing his tie, w/his big brother Rory, with his two brothers and his little sister, and in his best walkies sweater. Not bad for a streets of LA little rescue sweetheart. He lived his very best life.

I have to go for now, I have lots of tummies to rub and I have to see if I can coax Milo into eating some turkey baby food.. or something. ANYthing, really. See you later.

Rough day so far. I'm making arrangements for 1 of my sweetest little pet companion to fly across the light bridge, aka, the rainbow bridge. For a little guy who was picked up as a stray from the streets of LA at maybe 2 or 3 yrs of age, with the most awful double ear infection my vetty gal had ever seen, to being rescued & living living his best life for 13 yrs w/me & my fam, he's had such a good run. I'll miss him in the physical every day, but he will continue on with me, just in spirit. 1/2

Rory found his first baby bed, but is now (~14 years later) more than four times of his size back then. At 6 weeks of age, he had parvo and was surrendered to the vet hosp where I worked for euthanasia. Four pounds. Nearly died, but pulled through and I was lucky enough to get to adopt him! Now at 20 to 22 pounds he can't understand why he can't fit in his first baby bed...

Snoozy Finnie, back in 2014 when she was a teeny little girl.
