I think what people might not fully appreciate is that, especially after last year, the intensity of these storms in California has changed & keeps changing & scaling up. It’s not same as it ever was. It’s not 'but we had a flood 100 or 1000 years ago so whatevs.' Same goes for our droughts & wildfires. It’s shocking. So this isn’t normal run of the mill storm anxiety. It’s that we are feeling in our bones that this is a newly hostile planet thanks to manmade .

@peeppeepcircus you're also right that it's been shocking to us, but we've had our eyes opened and we can't turn away now from doing our best. As a permaculture person, you know the importance of working with the planet! PS permaculture is my dream, but not sure if I'll get to work it this time around. I'm so happy for you that you're working it, and a little bit jealous! 🫂💖💖💖

@mims working with the earth is eye-opening to all these shocking changes happening because you *have* to deal with it in real time on a micro scale, no room for denial or procrastination. And you witness the losses in real time too and there is some grief with that.

As for permaculture, even if you just leave some native seeds out for the birds and animals to take where they are needed, even that little bit helps and totally counts!
