Couple more pics from the snowstorm. We didn't have much wind so I'm not sure why those icicles are sideways 😄
And and I headed out to the pasture to tire him out after being cooped up all day yesterday.

@PurpleDragon

the snow against the roof
is melting morphing to ice
slowly sliding down
causing the cornice
to curve around the eave

@millard_jmm just thought it was strange that this was the only place it did that. All the other icicles are following standard gravity rules 😉

@PurpleDragon

roof over the house
is warm enough
to slowly melt the snow
but on that section of roof
when it gets to the eave
that is over cold air
next to cold wall
instead of warm house
or wall warmed by sun
it starts freezing again
and remains a semi solid sheet
to slip down the roof
and curve around the eave
instead of dripping off

north side of house
would cause this effect

if air stays cold enough
can even continue on
to form a giant ice ball
that eventually breaks off
and falls

@millard_jmm 🤔 it's on the south end of the house but no heat from the sun for 2 days so that's a distinct possibility

or...

a snort from
a frost breathing arctic dragon
bent them back

after all...
