just as i approached
the drop off of the wall
2 eagle rays came by
underneath me
flying along
following the lip of the wall
i've been to coco view on roatan
a dive place on utila island
dived a number of seamounts
then
cochino pequeno
cochino grande
dive place dos cochinos
the only dive resort
and a tiny place just getting
started
this is where i saw the eagle rays
was also in the water
when a group of dolphin
youngsters that liked to play in
the dive boat wake came along
i went quietly below
avoiding letting out big bubbles
and looked eye to eye
at a respectful distance
with the adult chaperoning them

Ohhhh.... we used to dive off Bay Islands!
Further north off Belize (same gulf stream), and Palancar wall, Punta Sur, off Cozumel (stopped going there when cruise ships started docking).
Eagle Rays, Makos, Black tips, even an occasional yellow fin Tuna.
It's gorgeous there.
