Age 10. When I opened up my first pack of Topps cards for the 1973 season, this was the first card at the front. I grew up going to games at Fenway, but over time, the more I learned about Roberto Clemente, the more this became my favorite card.
50 years ago today, the world lost a man who knew there were bigger things than baseball and acted upon that belief. Thanks nfor one of the most important life lessons of my youth, Mr. Clemente.

I grew up just outside of Pittsburgh in the 60's and Clemente was a local god. Apart from his amazing skills as a player, he was a great humanitarian and the city loved him for it.
