Basically, several high profile blue checked accounts were protesting the replacement of true verification with the new anyone-can-pay-to-get-a-checkmark-without-proving-they-are-who-they-say-they-are system by changing their name to Elon Musk. And instead of getting the point they were making, he unsurprisingly is throwing a tantrum. He's already suspended Kathy Griffin's account.
