If the ghost
Of the glow
Of the silver light
Of the waning moon
Took flight
Assumed a shape
Crystallised
Into a form
Of wild beauty
And went softly, there
Bathed in the gold
Of an early rising
Out on the green
Of a meadow morning
It could not
be more beautiful
Than you
With your heart
On your face
And soft light
In dark eyes
Shining

The weight of the sky
Rests on the shoulders
Of the gloomy grey hill
The rain falls heavy
On the Magpies chatter.
Athena, my friend,
Sits on the ledge
Of her dripping wall
Sighing,
Oh, what will I do?
Up in the mist
On the high high hill
The wind blows gently
Through the silver gate
And then,
From deep in the heart
Of an old stone wall
there is music sounding,
Three soft tones
#CoSopoetry
@gemswinc that's a lovely thing to think
@LnzyHou thank you 😊
A soft day
Silver and white
Snowdrops in little drifts
Tight to the wall
The gentle beat
Of the Heron's wing
Follows the silver stream
There's a glow that comes
From the heart of the earth
Shimmering off the hill
Where a Kestrel,
With her wild dancing
Stays still
In the still, silver, silken air
Held by a thread
From the heavens

Where is the light
On this grey
January day?
Low cloud
Meadow mist
A low wind
Rumbling
The cracked house
Is broken,
The walls
have fallen,
And I wonder if the beauty
Has departed
Time is ticking
Like a hidden wren
But her silver stream
Is tumbling
And crystal waters
Twinkle as they flow.

@WendyForbes and you are very kind
A beautiful day
Rose and amber
tints the clouds
High in the north and west
Golden light glinting
From the silver gate
And the silhouettes
Of the mythical three
Leaping along the skyline
Like dolphins in the bay
Gulls are calling
In the morning mist
The wind
Is sighing like the sea
I want to go
where the wild things are
And rest my head
By the sleepy ocean.

Calm
Something magical
About to happen
I find myself
Between the layers
A blanket of cloud
Shrouding the valley
A blanket of cloud
Light on the hill
I fill my lungs
With clear air
And make a wish.
Thee roe deer
Emerge
On the very edge of the mist
As if they had always been there
Like the start a fairy tale
They always were.
#CoSopoetry
There's a three mile mist
And the world is grey
The wind today
Is gentler than before
But I feel its temper
rising as I ride.
The calm after the storm
The calm before the next.
All the signs were saying
The road is closed
Entitled drivers
Who suspended disbelief
Rev their engines in dismay
While those of us in lesser mode
Can always find a way
#CoSopoetry
Then the rainbow smiles
And just for a moment
With the wind at my back
There's a kind of peace
I hear the hum of the road
Beneath me
And I feel like I'm flying.

Wild Isha storms
Howls through wires
Funnels through gaps
In my protecting wall
Straw and litter
torn from the moss
Twist in spirals
Over the road
Hands numb from grip
And the expectation
Of the fall
Only the crows black arrowheads
Can hold this furious gale
In narrow-winged joy
Loving their control
Over turbulence and gust.
While I'm at peril in the storm
Wind-whipped
Puddle-sprayed
I'm blinded
by the drizzle blizzard
1/2
A rapid thaw
Has streams in spate
The world is green again
Sighing woods
Are full of small birds
Singing
Blackbirds chant their glory
Towards a silver sky.
A sudden rush
A blur of slate-blue,
Cream and yellow
His terrible eye
His grasping claws
Make feathers fly
The hawk has struck.
He twists away
To celebrate
His lucky day

St Agnes Eve
And there you are, my love
White against the snow flecked moor
In the quiet space beyond the wind
Seeking solace in sweet coldness
Just as I knew you would be
Holding softly to the air
with gentle wings
Dark eyes flashing
at a storm grey sky
Three times I met you
And three times we said goodbye
Each time I thought it was the last
Each time a promise for the next.
#CoSopoetry
I should really have known
But I just didn't think
The beautiful sky
Entranced me
A mountain of cotton-white
Silver and pink
The moor aflame,
a fire on high
I rode in the joy
of the moment
Towards beauty.
Struck by the blizzard
High on the hill
Snow-blinded
By whiteness
And Frozen
I limp slowly home
Like the trembling hare
In a fable of prayer
All of that beauty
A rosy nightmare
And the cold silver sun
Was raging.
#CoSopoetry
Bitterly cold
Numb fingers
Silent sheep
Owls hide
In stone walls
Frost on the road
A rainbow light
Low down
In the north
My breath rising
Like incense
Into a lilac sky
And the glorious sun,
rising like a red god
Blazing
Lighting the snow in gold.
#CoSopoetry
@Esther that is a truly evocative line. So lovely
The valleys are dark and snowless
Up here it is bright
Even on the edge of night
Silver light shines
From luminous fields
It's peaceful and still
Bitterly cold
My grip on the bars is tight
Worries
fluttering like little pipits
My head is full of questions
Where shall I steer to?
What if I fall?
Avoiding
The shiniest part of the road
I'm careful on my way
And the blanket of mist
That sits over Marsden
Lit in gold by the rising sun
Is beautiful.
#CoSopoetry
I rise in the darkness
Bitterly cold
Ice on the puddles
A hiss on the road
Dawn paints faint light
Soft strokes of lilac and pink
On an indigo sky
And the glorious sun
Rising, cold and burning
And I'm flying with golden gulls
Into the biting breeze
Free to breathe this wakeful air
Filling my lungs
with the freshness of the freeze
