@LnzyHou it is beautiful that you think so.
Wild, grey ghosts
Are marching on the moor
Too many to count
They fill my world
And windowsills.
She dies a little more
Every day,
Her ivory breastbone
Is all that is left.
Weather-bleached
And ivory-white
The tight-sprung
Heart of her delight
And mine.
And oh, my father visited yesterday
Falling softly
From the pages of a book
He was singing
'Is my team a'ploughing?'
I wonder
Does he know if I'm ok?

I'm climbing into a gull-grey sky
My storm-wrecked road
Littered with colour
Amber, gold and green
Leaf-strewn
Blown up from spindly trees
From the aching, broken woods
Where have you gone, my beauty?
The summit mist
Sits just above my head
I hear the rush
Of a hundred starlings
Dipping into clear air
Here, then gone again
The embodiment
Of the breeze.

@LnzyHou I'm very glad that you come with me😊
There is wild weather coming
I can feel its heft
In the weight of the cloud
A tempestuous sky
Beethoven's frown
A furrowed brow
To the storm-lit hill
Pouring down from
A pale green sky
The hue of a seasick sailor.
Gulls are high
Wheeling, screaming their joy
In the heaving wind
and the blinding rain
The gale slows my flow
Down the pebble-dashed
Puddle-splashed
River-road home
#CoSopoetry
Freezing fog
Zero visibility
There's a strangeness
to the morning
Just the walls, the wires
And the road ahead
A female Kestrel
On a telegraph pole
Notices me noticing her
Waiting to drop
On a vole.
My legs feel strong,
I'm pushed by the breeze
Old leaves rustle and fall
From ghosts of trees.
The owner of the winding road
Riding in his little truck
Lights off, window down
Tooting like a silly duck.
#CoSopoetry
Autumn glory
Cloudless blue
Red berry rubies
Light the golden woods
Ice on the green pond
The road crackles
Like a winter fire.
Music echoes
from a frosty roof
A bright-eyed blackbird
On a clear blue morning
A frost-shocked Ash
Has lost her leaves
Naked now
In a sadness
of fallen green.
A bronze Buzzard shines
On the tinkling hill
And high above it all
A peregrine soars
Scythes great circles
In a cobalt sky
And the world
Holds its breath.
#CoSopoetry
White gulls sailing
In a clear blue sky
The air is still and cold
Peaceful
The first frost
Sends me skittering
On the decking
As friction fails
And tyres fail to bite
Then catch their grip
To save my little slip
Now caution is my watchword
As I'm blinded by the light
And I climb the frosty silver hill
Into a golden sun.
#CoSopoetry
Beautiful creatures
Bright little whisperers,
fluttering, like eyelashes,
Hiding their blushes
Behind red-amber leaves
Of a trembling birch
In the silvered spinney.
Arriving together
Leaving together
A tinkling cloud
Lit by the light
Of a low morning sun
Like a soft summer breeze
Away to make everything
A little more beautiful
#CoSopoetry
A grey world
Narrowed by dark cloud
Sitting low on the shoulders
Of sodden hills,
Weighed down by cloud-water
Suspended in mid-air
Thickened into fine drizzle
And turned by wild winds
Into wild weather
Lashing down like little tacks
Pinpricks narrow my tearful eyes
But I bear an idiot's smile
Teeth bared
Lips thin
With my ridiculous
Rictus grin.
#CoSopoetry
@danielbsmith a good day to you😊
A silver storm
Marches up the valley
Grey rain falling in curtains
The shining road
Sings under my wheels
And the wind whistles
Through high wires
Owl-light
Silver-bright
Low and shining
Away to my right
Gilding the white
Of the magpies flight
And painting her wings
With brilliant green
and purple sheen
#CoSopoetry
Grey rain teeming
Hunched in billows
Wild winds are
howling through the tower
Just a corner
Of a rainbows smile
Lighting the sky
By the misty mills.
Unusual little men
on the wild moor
Guns in their butts
Flat caps and cigarettes
Gun-dogs and red flags
Barbours and gumboots
Land-Rovered up
to the hilt of their tweed
I pity the grouse,
Chuckling away
Low down in the heather
And hope that the beaters
Are beat by the weather.
#CoSopoetry
Peaceful and still
A cold bite to the air
Silver brushstrokes of
High cirrus, shining
Bright red rowan trees
Noisy as cities
Heavy with a weight
Of winter thrushes.
Over the golden threshold
To where roe deer tiptoe
Silent, like graceful dancers
Leaping arabesques
Into the heart
Of the amber moss.
#CoSopoetry
All I had to do
Was to go out into the mist
And believe.
They appear gently
Like a soft whisper.
Out of thin air
A roebuck and two does
Meeting me
At the edge of trust
Wild and proud
Leaving
As I turn to go.
Two dark Ravens,
Speak softly
Each to the other
I can hear the air
Flow through their wings
As they soar away
To Sleepy Lowe
#CoSopoetry
At last
The golden sun
Lighting up my back
Casts my crouching shadow
On the silver shining fields
Gulls sail
On the windy edge
All but one, serene
But he, he is different
This is his moment
Cavorting with joy
Twisting and calling
And carried away
By the strength of his powers
Amazed at how he can fly
Embraced, then let go
By the autumn breeze
Again, again
He calls to the wind
In thrall to the peril of
weightless, boundless love

@DJ95X I'm sending love and strength. This poem is about my mum. She actually never left me, even though she's gone.
@damselfly59 thank you so much
@DJ95X that is beautiful. Thanks so much for telling me.
The bonfires are built
On the edge of winter
Primed and waiting
For another beginning.
This little journey
Takes me away
To somewhere else
Somewhere between
This place and another,
This seen, small world
And the infinite.
My only limit is in the mist
Of my imagining.
And today, of all the days
She reaches out
Across the years
With all that love
And touches me
In all of the aged amber
Of an old oak leaf
Once so green and lustrous
Now wrinkled
Freckled
Gentle
And beautiful.
