A storm charged sky
Yesterday is in my heart
Its dark and early
But there's something about
The early light
I know that you are there
And I know that I will find you
Beautiful
Ivory-shining
Dancing to the music
Of the western wind
Hunting
So close I could touch you
Your fearless eyes meet mine
Dark and bold
Away, soft and low
Beneath the air
Beyond the earth
Something other
Beyond my knowing

Dark skies in the afternoon
Rain is falling
I can't see where I am
My landmarks are hidden
Unfamiliar trees emerge
Like giants from the wood
Daisies, like clouds in the ditch
Lilac air above, around
The wild wind carries me
It is easy riding
With the storm
But that is not my way
My way is against the wind
If I want to go where I belong
I need to sing a different song

Look
A red Robin
in the hawthorn
Quiet, and questioning.
Where is your joy,
Not here?
Not now?
In the still silver
Of a perfect autumn morning,
Pale bronze in the east,
Pastels of blue,
The music of geese
Floats over the water
The old gold
in the hearts
of your daisies
Glowing
I carry it with me
Into the day

Fleet footed summer
Flies south for the winter
Away like the geese
That call on the breeze
Strong winds in the night
Whistling through wires
Stripping green leaves
And fists full of berries
Down from the slender
Elder trees
A watery sun
Brings gold for the morning
Setting light to the gorse
Brightening the hearts
of ragged daisies
And I remember the beautiful chains
Binding me to the past.

Home
Into the deep of the green
The coolness of autumn air
Pushing me on
To the sound of the geese
And the roaring bull
Up to the mills
That are lost in the mist
And the mast sitting proud
On the side of the road
And the little dark flocks
Of finches and pipits
And tinkling linnets
Over the rocks
The blackness of berries
Still held by the Elder
The red of the Rowan.
The turn of the wheel
The ticking of clocks.

A cockerel calls
In the early light
What will you do today?
The millpond sea
Still, milk white
A single boat
Breaks the divide darkly
Far far away.
A change from something blue
To something bluer
Blurred by shimmering heat
Stretching for miles
Marking the boundary
Between this world
and another
The one that sits
Over the edge
Always just out of reach.
One day I will find a way
To leap across the great divide
And I will see exactly what
Lies on the other side.

I took the track
from the golden beach
At Mirathi
And wound my way
Over mountain thyme
Between the jangling goats
Above the silver sea
Up to where white doves flutter
On towers of rock.
Beyond the house of Alas
Where everything is perfect
But for just one thing
To the plateau
Where golden birds
Sing golden songs
And then down
Down like a falcon
Sweeping down to the ocean
Breathless and shining.

A silver glimmering
From a peaceful sea
A deep, sweet
coconut scent
From luscious fig,
Wild thyme,
Lavender scents
And thrushes whistle.
Pomegranates glow
Warning lights
Deep red
In the rich orchard.
And a happy little wheatear
reminds me of home.

The scent of wild fennel
Sweetens the air
There's a breeze
From the sea
Bringing salt and thyme
There's a Buzzard
Mewling on the scrub
And in the wood
A crested Hoopoe
In gaudy pink
and black and white
Rising and falling gently
between the pines
And out across
The silver olive grove
Stretched out in rows
Towards the silver sea.

@Say_what_now feel free to use it how you like.
Maybe mention that I wrote it, if you do😊

A lofty eagle
turns the great circle
Patient and noble
Feeling his way
to the highest plane
Holding his weight
With lightness and ease
In his arms of his wings
Lifted by the flow
Of lighter airs, rising,
And the gentle breath
Of a soft western breeze
An early morning sun
Breaks open the sky
Lighting the sea
with silver glitter
And into the brightness
The dark eagle flies.

Warm and blue
Scents of thyme
Lavender and rosemary
Ravens above
Bright with silver
Shining
A falcon climbing
on a roiling thermal
Rough ground
Rock and thorn
There's no softness here
The shimmering heat of high noon
Grinds away
Like the chain in my cogs
On the impossible hill

Still and silent
Heavy with vapour
A weight of fog
For a moment,
It feels like it might brighten.
The last of the Swallows
Are gathered by the barn
Chattering with wild abandon
Free to do as they please
In the mist of forgiveness
The daisies are hiding
Shy petals furled like fingers
Hiding their golden hearts
I love days like these
Where the beauty is hidden,
When everything is on the brink
And glory feels as if
It's just around the next corner

Out
into the dewdropped
Raindropped, mist-muddled
Brown-puddled, owl-screeched
Damp
of an autumn morning
Pipits whistle
In the grey-heavy
Low-slung weight
of the cloud-roof
Sitting on my shoulder.
There's a moaning, fluting
Low note
floating down the hillside
Coming from the inside
Down through the bones
of the earth
Like the sound of a mountain
Crying.
And by dark walls
The ditches full of lilac daisies
Shining.

Clear and bright
On top of the world
I can see for miles and miles
Autumn thrushes
Up from the woods
And rosehips shine
Like rubies bright
Gorse glows gold
In the low morning sun
And the grass
is white with dew
Revealing the way
The hare has been
In the deep
of an owl-dark night

Six tones, singing
The stream in hubbbb
The sharp tap of raindrops
Falling on my head
Shush of wet wind
Winding round my ears
The high hiss
of tyres on the road
The low roar of light traffic
And the intermittent splash
of brown puddles
Mud on the road
And the moor is moving
Pulled down to earth
By gravity and flow
A little owl sits
Bedraggled on the wall
Then off to the shelter
Of the hawthorn tree
Flies he.

And suddenly
They appear
In their hundreds
and thousands
Little stars
Lighting the mist
In drifts of purple
With hearts of gold
Enticing the sun
From behind her veil
In pale shades of lilac
And deep lavender
All of the colours
In the key of blue
And in the midst of all of it,
You.
And I'm remembering
With my sad little smile.

@miinx what a beautiful message. Thank you so much for reading and enjoying my poems x
