A sepia Sunday
And I'm looking back
At summer fading gently
Into brown.
A cool south-westerly
Sets the lake a'shimmer
And the crows are shining
On the naked Ash
Oh now I can see
The way I've taken
Out of a milky sun
And my winding path
Shines at me
Smiling
Winding its way
Brighter where I had to stop
Always wandering
But following me
All the way to now
Where ticking wrens
Sing glowing songs
To the bright red Rowan tree.

@matty7w Hello Marty! As usual I loved your words and the beautiful images you create with them. I had to look up the Rowan tree. What a gorgeous tree! It seems this tree has a special place in the UK culture. Thanks for another lesson about your beautiful, wild,

@allin it is a very special tree, the Rowan. It is also known as the Mountain Ash. As you say, it has magical power and it's really beautiful and graceful. And particularly at this time of year it brings a wonderful light with it, wherever you find it.

@matty7w I had to look up the Rowan tree. What a delight! Not only is it beautiful, but it appears to have a special meaning. Thanks for another journey of the senses. And thanks for sharing it with us here. I wonder if its symbolism of courage, wisdom, and protection could work on our side of the pond? We could use it and I really need it, personally.
