Somehow this doesn't inspire confidence, especially if you have young children or elderly family members affected. And their, "We're sorry" comes off as being a little trite as if the company is a naughty toddler caught stealing from the cookie jar, confronted and made to apologize after standing in the corner for 5 minutes.

@lisaannlm

Nope.

I left their shitty food long ago. Used to be delicious & stores were clean. Not anymore.

@lisaannlm The bits about fast food burgers in this Corn episode are disturbing. youtu.be/MI78WOW_u-Q

@TheresaVermont It's not just fast food either, it's the actual hamburger you buy at the supermarket. I have heard heinous stories about processors picking ground beef off the floor and mixing it with unspoiled meat. No harm no foul as far as their concerned they just pump the product full of ammonia.

@lisaannlm @TheresaVermont

Back in the day, McD had the best fries ever. They used beef tallow because they couldnโ€™t afford vegetable oil. What difference!

They lost their standing when they switched to vegetable oil for health reasons. Their food is no longer wonderful.

@LnzyHou @TheresaVermont Vegetable oil doesn't cook as well but hey they can at least they can say they have something vegan on the menu, except that many vegans are highly suspicious of anything that is labeled GMO which I believe the potatoes their fries come from are.

McDonalds has tried dipping their toes into plant based and veggie burgers before but are always quick to remove them from the market. They claim it's poor sales but I'm not buying that.

@TheresaVermont I also heard something weird years ago but I don't know if it's been proven yet. Apparently, companies like MacDonalds put something in the food to entice people's brains into wanting more of their products because their business model is designed to turn people into what they call, "heavy consumers" meaning that you're someone who patronizes them more than once a week or every once in awhile.

@lisaannlm

Feel free to eat their fast food in Switzerland or France (not that you'd want to ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿคฃ )...

Their food purity laws are not subsumed under corporate greed.

Am very embarrassed that their supplier was in Colorado... we're (often) much better than that.

@zenmudprod Is it true portion sizes are smaller in European McDonalds? Because I have heard, particularly in France, they are less inclined to load you up on soda, which a lot of people in America are addicted to. I cut it out awhile ago because of the sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and caramel colors. I might have one rarely but if I do I limit the amount.

@lisaannlm

It was 2010 when I returned to USA ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
My memory is that "free refills" did not exist.

Truth be told, I think I did Burger King 6x in Genรจve, in 12 years. (I fancied a blonde Suissesse who worked there)... don't remember doing "McDos" (as said en franรงais).

Chez moi 1997-2010

@zenmudprod Oui, je parle franรงais, je ne savais pas que c'รฉtait comme รงa qu'ils appelaient McDonalds. Merci!

Just a note though my language skills aren't the best so if I ever say something in French that doesn't sound correct please feel free to let me know.โ™ฅ๏ธ

@lisaannlm
Oui, en effet : and pronounced like "bread dough" not "to do"...
"Mac-doughs"

I wrote in French de temps en temps because I don't want to lose it; in my image above, the French border is barely visible as the arc of trees to left of school and parking area, at top of image.
