when my kid was little i used to sing them bedtime songs.

they started requesting the ones they liked best, and a favorite for some reason was the star spangled banner, which i found very strange (we are not particularly patriotic in our house).

i asked them one day why they liked it so much and they said "the rockets and bombs."

i should have known.

When the kids were younger, we went to see "Stomp" and that triggered years of impromptu percussive jam sessions around the house <3
