Only the original will do. Even if it has to come from across the country.

in the past 48 hours, I've asked K if she would entertain the idea to move east and if she would entertain the idea to move west. I put this here, because if she kills me for wanting to move (again), no jury in the world would convict her with this justification.

checking in on and with friends in Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. so far, everyone is okay and dealing with damage and debris. there are some who are still silent, which is not surprising given the power outage issues there. just hope everyone made it through safely.

Shrimp stew with peppers, corn, and tomatoes over basmati rice. Top with a spicy chipotle sauce. I’m a big fan of one pot meals.

what is the scientific reasoning for naps? are we napping more than our ancestors? what does it mean if you don't nap?

these are the questions I'm pondering today.

The in home bakery was in action today. I don’t have the culinary patience to make these treats, but I will participate in the eating of them.

It would appear I’ve interrupted a high level planning meeting for future mischief. 🐱

crossroads come up in our lives quite often. sure, we wonder about the road not traveled, but what about the one we take? keeping an eye on what's in front of you is just as important as looking around at options.

Cayde is less than pleased that I'm having to work so much lately. But it will soon be all worth it, and he'll appreciate all the treats that follow.

closing one book. opening another.

notebook, not anything else. although I can understand why you'd think otherwise. it has been a while for me.

interesting event this weekend. at a farmers market, we found a booth that was selling infused honey. the booth was operated in the front by a man and several women. the man did nearly all of the talking, even though we tried to engage the women in conversation only to be interrupted by the man. only after we bought a jar of the honey did the man stop talking to us. we were able to find out the booth was full of marketing students who infused local honey as a sales project.
