It would appear I’ve interrupted a high level planning meeting for future mischief. 🐱

crossroads come up in our lives quite often. sure, we wonder about the road not traveled, but what about the one we take? keeping an eye on what's in front of you is just as important as looking around at options.

Cayde is less than pleased that I'm having to work so much lately. But it will soon be all worth it, and he'll appreciate all the treats that follow.

closing one book. opening another.

notebook, not anything else. although I can understand why you'd think otherwise. it has been a while for me.

Earl Grey tea with habanero-infused honey is the punch to the back of the throat I didn't know I needed to start the day.

doing on camera work for the first time in a very long time. and wow, am I out of practice! but keeping at it until I get it right. or as close to it as possible.

lying in bed this morning, I hear a crash from another room. would you a) jump out of bed to investigate? b) sit up and wait for another crash before getting up? or c) roll over and go back to sleep.

I chose C. I do not regret the choice.

New Orleans-style food (i.e.: Cajun and Creole) is so rich and delicious. The levels of flavors, textures, and spices make every bite a culinary adventure. Shrimp etouffee is a stew that is smothered in a roux-based sauce that is silky and goes so well with rice.

How many times do you reheat your coffee or tea before you just give up and pour it out? I’m on my second reheat attempt. ☕️

I welcomed them to the marketing world and wished them luck. but it bugged me throughout the day that the man, a college-aged student, would try to railroad the conversation, even when we were standing in front of the women and talking with them.

and it still bugs me. not sure what's being taught in marketing schools. (2/2)

interesting event this weekend. at a farmers market, we found a booth that was selling infused honey. the booth was operated in the front by a man and several women. the man did nearly all of the talking, even though we tried to engage the women in conversation only to be interrupted by the man. only after we bought a jar of the honey did the man stop talking to us. we were able to find out the booth was full of marketing students who infused local honey as a sales project. Sunspot helping me with sound meditation this morning. Soft purring goes well with the crystal bowl sound.

Coconut cream pie. Because someone loves me enough to make one from scratch. 🥧

The paladin is down. The rogue takes leadership of the party. What adventures await?

Roasted vegetables are my favorite way to get my veggies. The slow cooking enhances the more subtle flavors of the vegetables without making them mushy or hard. Potatoes, onions, peppers, and so many others are great with a well-seasoned cut of meat. And you can do it all in one pot. larryskitchen

Saturday morning hunt at the Maple Valley Farmers Market and the Smoke House in Black Diamond. This should last us for a couple of weeks. Maybe.

When the temperatures drop, a hearty soup is the perfect solution. This is also one of my favorite soups when I’m in Baltimore’s Little Italy neighborhood.
