Dinner with a friend and former Wizards colleague was highly enjoyable. Talked about our individual journeys forward, our joined (but too brief) past, and what we’re doing for fun these days (D&D for both of us). Great to see you, Light!

this has so much potential to be a wonderful time sink. the Forgotten Realms is truly full of great stories to be told.

Pi Day 🥧 and for the first time in many days. Hoping for a trifecta of good things today, but the last is all on me.

Baked potatoes are one of the healthiest and most unhealthy foods out there, depending on what you do to them after they leave the oven. This version adds creamy guacamole and black beans in a delicious topping to a fluffy baked potato. Technically, it is a vegetarian dish, but it sure tastes great.

A goal and 4 assist in the first half of the ice hockey game. Then I got shut down in the second half. Still had loads of fun. 🐐 🏒

got my tickets for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

I'm going to be twitchy until the 28th.

strange for a company to email me, telling me I'd be a great fit in a position with their company. only to reject me days later without any other interactions. there is a disconnect somewhere, but I'm pretty sure it isn't me.

Throw together a pasta and a really good sauce, and you have the makings of a memorable meal. Ravioli is so good because you have these flavor packs just waiting to burst with goodness at each bite. And I could drink this sauce by itself.

@danalan my favorite is their reactions when I say, "Are you sure you want to do that?"

Now, I just do it randomly to throw them off. 😀

Every once in a while, my D&D group will bring up something from a previous adventure (an encounter, a NPC, a death). Those are the moments that I, as the DM, get really pleased with the stories I try to tell. They linger. ☺️

I feel you, Tina. Expecting chocolate chips and getting raisins in my cookies is a crime against culinary nature.

In the 3 months since my layoff, I have:
• Searched for my new career opportunity
• Expanded my professional network
• Reworked my resume/cover letters
• Talked with recruiters/hiring managers
• Appreciated the help from my friends/former colleagues

But I also have:
• Restarted my food blog with new recipes
• Joined an ice hockey team
• Focused on my physical health
• Volunteered with Extra Life/Seattle Children’s
• Brainstormed with other D&D DM

move to the West Coast, they said. no more hurricane natural disasters, they said.

from the USGS on most dangerous volcanos in the United States. Rainer is 37 miles from my home (as the crow flies) and St. Helens is 76 miles away.

new focus: worry about the process and improving on the process, and the goal will take care of itself.

These fritters remind me of a kid with the ingredients but appeal to adult me in the variety of usages they have. Whether as a side dish or part of the main course, the sweet corn comes through and adds a great texture to any meal. Pairing them up with black bean salsa and eggs makes a great brunch.

channeling my Dr. Strange persona this morning.

"Pain is an old friend."

Homemade tamales from our next door neighbor makes the best Sunday dinner. 🫔

Small in size but mighty in flavor. And yes, if you don’t get a good seal, these Chorizo Empanadas will open up. But that’s okay. larryskitchen
