Rant/ramble incoming:

I’ve seen quite a few people say, “Looking for a job is a full-time job,” and it couldn’t be more wrong.

I will grant the time and effort in looking for a job may seem like a full-time job. But I don’t know any employment that has emotional swings and bouts of depression on a near daily basis because of inattention, ghosting, lack of feedback, or the boredom of the constant waiting.

@Lucky188 that's the thing. it isn't about money. it is about influence. WaPo is a vanity project for Bezos, and Soon-Shiong (LA Times owner) isn't a news person so doesn't care. if you want it to be about money, stop shopping at Amazon for a year to show Bezos what it means.

the absolute cowardice of these newspaper owners is an exercise in the absence of responsibility. no excuses. gutless.

Much like many recipes in , the original version made by my mom was chicken and dumplings. So incredibly good, I would devour the dumplings and broth before moving on to any of the other ingredients. My version replaces the dumplings with Old Bay and cheddar biscuits. They are great on their own, but they are such a great partner to the chicken casserole in this dish.

"It is not you. Companies are being so dysfunctional now and making repeatedly terrible decisions. No one is looking at long term."

That may be so, but when they consider me their long-term solution, it really doesn't help my employment status. And yes, I do take it personally.

something something muscle memory...

reloaded Fortnite for the first time in years (?) and finished second in my first battle royale back. this game has changed A LOT since I last played. no idea if I can catch up to the meta on this one.

Happy Comic Book Day! Three new beginnings for a few of my favorite heroes, and I love the short stories in The Brave and The Bold. Still not a fan of Wally's new costume though.

Two days into the week and Arthur has had enough. Bring on the weekend.

got my Extra Life Charity 2024 Playmat and the Pixel Ajani artwork is amazing! perfect to go with the Secret Lair drop, with funds raised going directly to the Wizards of the Coast Autism Center Development Fund at Seattle Children's.

If you missed my appearance at Seattle Extra Life Game On event, now you can watch it on Twitch. Yes, I was apparently being very mysterious with the shadowed face, but the hat logo was more important.

Depression is not just a river in hell.

Yeah, I don't know where that came from either, but I woke up with it. My brain is not my friend these days.

wow. no more Foursquare City Guide app as of Dec. 15. it was a great app to find places and restaurants in all the cities I've visited and lived. plus the lists were great to remind me of places I wanted to visit. Swarm is allegedly getting new features in the near future, but it just won't be the same.

Shakshuka combines a spicy tomato sauce with the deliciousness of a soft cooked egg. And confounded my many attempts to get it right until I divided up the tasks. Perfection.

If I had a tombstone, this would be appropriate for me. And definitely hit “Y” repeatedly. 🎮

K: “How many dice do you have?”

Me (quizzically): “Is that a trick question?”

Narrator: This was not all of the dice in his possession.

more than $4,400 was raised today during the Game On event for Seattle Extra Life. Game Day, where I will be gaming for 24 hours, is only two weeks away. exciting times to help sick and injured kids and their families!
