it has been ages since I've had an Orange Julius. tried making a home version that didn't turn out too bad, but didn't the store version contain egg? or am I just having some fever dream about it?

@lfrum Some Dairy Queens sell what they claim is Orange Julius. it's not quite the same, but it's close. My local DQ is often out of one ingredient or another, or the machine is down, so I stopped going there.

@lfrum I had one a while back.. they had some flavour squirt they put in it. I like orange juice with a splash of milk whipped up is pretty good like a creamsicle

@lfrum

I was literally mentioning Orange Julius to my spouse this morning. Years ago, I tried replicating the taste but never could quite get that magic flavor. 🍊

@lfrum The store version did contain egg, at least in the 80s. When my younger brother was about middle-school age, he and I and my mother went to an Orange Julius in the local mall. My brother was (and is) allergic to eggs. The counter clerk assured us that the drink was egg-free. My brother ended up vomiting all over the food court.
