Watching The Birds. I can see why people thought it was scary when it was new, but modern special effects have ruined me for old scary movies. There's also something about the transatlantic accent that takes me out of the moment.

I really love the Slough House books but I have one criticism: having one major female character who copes (or has previously coped) with trauma by sleeping with a lot of strange men is… acceptable but frankly not a smart move for a male author. Having two, plus a third who copes by doing a lot of drugs, is just sexist.

An hour and change until I get the scary presentation over with. Then the rest of my day should be much more enjoyable.

My favorite weird thing my husband does is whistling along with disco music in the car. It’s just so whimsical and unexpected.

Doctor said my foot looks great and is healing ahead of schedule! I’m supposed to go back to wearing the rest of my normal shoes now. We’ll see how that goes 👀

Baby nephew who has been in the hospital since Friday has tested positive for norovirus and e. coli. He's having a rough time but it seems like he will be okay. I feel terrible for him obviously, but I also feel pretty bad for my sister-in-law, spending her first mother's day as a mom in the hospital worrying about her baby.

Lovely brunch with the parents, followed by a nap, followed by finishing organizing the pantry. I need a few more organizing bins but it looks pretty good for the time being. Now for some ice cream and a scary movie ❤️

This trend of filming TV shows with so little light that you can’t see what’s happening unless you turn off ALL the lights really needs to stop. I should not have to sit in pitch darkness to watch TV. How am I supposed to knit?! (Looking at you, Invasion 😠)

I had a couple of travel cups left over after employee appreciation gifts were made, so I did this. I still have one more I need to come up with a design for.

Today I discovered this app called Russian Readers, which has stories of various reading levels that are read out loud, SLOWLY, with Russian text and optional English text so you can read along. This is exactly what I have been looking for for ages! (I also like the YouTube series by Real Russian Club so far but it’s more like traditional language lessons.)

Btw the teddy bear I’m going to make for him is SUPER cute. I might have to make myself one too.
