Went to bed with some Smith Teamakers English Brunch tea w/Eagle Brand milk in it. Waking up with the Beijing back-alley tea (Yunnan black tea, no additives). More caffeine bang in the morning, most definitely.

A cup of masala chai is steeping as I type this. I've gone through more than half of one of the 8oz containers I bought from Adagio Teas faster than I thought I ever would. The stuff is addictive, folks - warn your kids!

Grocery shopping done - we have milk again! Finally time to have some more masala chai. Lesson learned - it just doesn't work with powdered coffee creamer. Yuck.

Starting off the morning with more Beijing back-alley tea, this time the Yunnan black tea. I love this stuff. Not bitter at all. I'm gonna miss it when I run out of it.

Taking a brief hiatus from tea for the stronger stuff: Drago Espresso Pods (freshroastedcoffee.com/product). Good, strong, smooth coffee. I need the kick in the arse this morning.

Experimenting with the back-alley Beijing tea this morning, trying to see if I can make a full 8oz (250ml) cup of it. First attempt appears successful - 2 tsp for 4 min at boiling. Nice cup, even moreso with some Adagio Teas tea sugar.

Pretending I'm in China!

Wow! Got some tea mailed to me by a friend in Beijing--"Beijing Back-Alley Tea" they call it. It's a Yunnan Black Tea, just a couple of teaspoons steeped for 2 minutes. Makes a strong brew! Good stuff!

Masala chai this morning. Needed on a near-freezing day with a 90% chance of rain.

Went ahead and chose a mellow black tea. Guangxi Liu Bao Cha dark tea. Cross yer fingers.

What's a good tea for allergies, CoSoNauts? Green, white, black, or masala chai? Help!!!

(achoo)

Disappointment! I went to get a cup of Long Ming green tea from a sample Teavivre sent me, and I realized too late that I only had one gram left when I needed two! I wound up making half a cup of tea. Thank goodness I've got that tea on reorder, but that does me no good for this morning. 😭

Once more, masala chai latte. It's got stiff competition from my oxycodone 15mg this morning. Everything else has received a beatdown at my pain prescription's hands. Sending well wishes down along with the chai.

Going with some Premium White Peony (Bai MuDan) tea from Teavivre tonight. Gotta experience some of my other flavors for a change.

Changed my mind - I *do* need high levels of caffeine today. The oxycodone I take for chronic, acute pain has already knocked me out twice, and now it's got me cross-eyed.

So, I brewed up a cup of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Kochere coffee from Fresh Roasted Coffee (freshroastedcoffee.com/collect). It's our go-to coffee, decided upon after about a year of experimentation. I'm waiting for it to kick in so I can get back to work on the sequel to my sci-fi novel. Wish me luck!

Drinking Organic Nonpareil Ming Qian Dragon Well Long Jing Green Tea this morning. Fancy name, good basic green tea. No bitterness whatsoever. Low caffeine, but I don't find myself needing a ton this morning. Go figure.

Finally getting around to that jasmine tea that @stueytheround recommended this morning. Specifically, an Award Winning Superfine Jasmine Downy Dragon Pearls Green Tea from Teavivre (teavivre.com/superfine-jasmine). A long name for a bunch of very small pellets of tea. Wonderful jasmine scent. Delicate taste, just right for an evening tea.

Good morning, CoSo! What kind of tea should I have today? Green, White, Black, or Masala Chai Latte? Help me choose, please!

Following up on British Brunch tea from Steven Smith Teamaker: I experimented with adding sweetened condensed milk to it. The result is eminently drinkable as a "brunch" tea. I may have put in a bit too much milk, but that's easily remediable. Recommended.

Waking up with another masala chai latte, this time with Adagio's Amber Sugar Crystals as the sweetener (adagio.com/pantry/amber_sugar_). Tried a few when they came in last night - not enough. Tried more this morning - too many. Will eventually hit the sweet spot (pun intended) with these babies one of these days.
