My wife and I will be driving from Dallas to Austin tomorrow afternoon in advance of a Christmas party with her side of the family on the 26th. I'm going to have my pain meds at the ready all the way down.
Practically none of the chain nor local restaurants will be open, save for a kolache & meat market called Slovacek's in West, Texas. We'll be buying some food there to take to our hotel room for dinner. We're thankful for a fridge & microwave in the room. 😋

We've been converted from Czech Stop to Slovacek's - they make better kolaches. Still, NOBODY beats Weikel's Bakery in LaGrange. 😋 Best Kolaches In Texas!
@leejackson I have to agree on Weikels! There are no kolaches in California I have become convinced LOL
